The Virtual Ergonomist (VE) is a live, remote ergonomic resource who works with your employees via the telephone to solve ergonomic issues at a fraction of the cost of a conventional, on-site ergonomic evaluation.
A Virtual Ergonomist performs the same duties as a typical on-site ergonomic consultant, with the added benefit of additional education tools for the employee traditional on-site ergonomists do not typically provide. A Virtual Ergonomist can help employees in traditional or remote office environments as well as the telecommuting or home office employee.
You don't have to be affiliated with a traditional company setting to take advantage of virtual ergonomics. A Virtual Ergonomist can help you create a productive and comfortable workspace with the equipment and furniture you have available, recommending additional products that you can consider to further improve the space and reduce discomfort or pain.
Upon setting up a review for you or your employee, your employee will receive an email including a pre-review survey. The scheduling of the review is included in the survey. The Virtual Ergonomist will call the evaluation participant at the scheduled time. A typical review lasts 30-45 minutes and includes training on MyErgoStat, an educational resource available to virtual evaluation participants for a limited duration following the evaluation, as well as ErgoChat, where the participant can chat unlimitedly with an ergonomist while the service is active. We typically recommend a planned review time of 45 minutes to an hour – this will almost always allow for the initial review plus one or two follow-up calls. The review will not exceed the paid time unless prior authorization has occurred.
Upon the activation of an employee, you will be given a tracking number to allow you to track the evaluation process. Upon completion of the review, you will be notified via email and will receive a link to access the report created by the Virtual Ergonomist. Any product recommendations will be included within the report.
